Visitors...

Charlotte and I had a couple of visitors today! Little Tucker (4) and Miranda (5) came over this morning while their mom and dad went to an appointment in town. We had a lot of fun hanging just hanging out today. We ate junk food and watched movies all morning! How must would you have wanted to do that when you were four or five! The kids just loved Charlotte. Poor Miranda had to wait a few hours while Charlotte was napping to hold the baby! It was all she could do not to wake the baby up! Once Charlotte was awake, fed, and changed she finally got to hold her! It was so cute I couldn't help but pull out the camera!

She was so excited to hold "Baby Charlotte."
Then it was Tucker's turn to hold "Baby Charlotte."
Both kids snuggling with Charlotte!
Tucker found an umbrella in the kitchen so we decided it was raining in the house!!! We played with that umbrella for quite a while, I bet it doesn't rain often in your kitchens!
It was a fun visit! Charlotte and I both liked having some company today!

Sleeping, Growing, and Smiling!

Things around here are going great. Charlotte has taken to sleeping 5 1/2 hours a night...this is WONDERFUL! It is amazing how just getting a five hour stretch can rejuvenate ones soul! She has also becoming more and more alert when she is awake. She turns her head every which way just to look at anything and everything. It is fun to watch our sweet little one growing and changing.
She is now well over 8 lbs and is a whooping 22 inches long. It is hard to believe that she has grown five and a half inches in only 6 weeks!
Our all time favorite new thing is most defiantly her smiles! Those smiles just warm your heart and make any day a great day!! I will work on capturing a picture, however, they are still somewhat sporadic and not easily captured by the camera. As soon as I can get one I will post it for sure!
Here is a quick photo of her taking a short nap in her swing! She loves to hold a blanket while she naps...quite cute if I do say so!

The Great Big Cow...

Aunt Sarah gave Charlotte a huge black and white cow while we were out in Oregon. Charlotte loves it!! It was sitting on the couch near her and I noticed she was just staring at it. I move it close to her and she just watched it for the longest time. It was so cute. Here are a couple pictures of her and the cow!
You can see in the second picture that the cow is bigger then she is! Thank you Aunt Sarah!

A funny story...

I have a funny story to share. Chris, my brother-in-law, hasn't spent much time around babies, however, Becky and Chris are expecting their first baby in Aug. He was so good to hold Charlotte when John plopped her in his arms when we first arrived. Chris glowed when he held her, and I must say did a very fine job! Charlotte was due for her evening bottle so I asked if he would like to feed her, he said sure! After a few minutes Charlotte was done and I told him she needed to be burped. Chris set the bottle down and just looked at the baby. He waited a few seconds and then with a look of "what do I do now" says to Charlotte...."well, burp." What made it so funny was he was completely perplexed as to what happened next. We all got a good laugh and then explained how one would go about burping a baby. I guess it was a good thing we brought Charlotte to Oregon so he could practice!!!
I can say with all honesty, Chris was wonderful with Charlotte and both him and Becky will make wonderful parents! However, this is a story I am afraid will stay with Chris for years to come!!! We love you man!!!

First Visit to Oregon

We took our first trip out to Oregon to visit family this week. The plane ride went well, Charlotte slept the whole way coming and going! When we first arived we visited with Chris and Becky for a day and then headed down to see Grandma and Grandpa Zimmerman. On our way down we stopped in Roseburg to visit my cousin Michelle and two of her boys. Michelle's little boy Cameron just loved Charlotte...it was so cute!

Cameron, Charlotte, and me. He was so cute and so excited to "hold" the baby!
He held Charlotte tighter if she squeaked or squirmed! Too cute!A quick picture with Michelle and her two sweet boys!
After a very nice lunch we headed down to visit the grandparents. One of our first stops once we made it down to southern Oregon, was to visit Charlotte's great grandparents Joe and Eva Clement. My grandma was so excited to meet Charlotte.

Me, grandma, and Charlotte...grandma was just glowing! Grandpa holding our sweet baby girl!
Here are a few more pictures from our trip.

John made sure that Chris got in LOTS of practice holding the baby. Chris wasn't ready to change a diaper...but he was more then willing to hold her! Just wait Chris your turn is coming!!! Charlotte did so well on our trip! She was quite the trooper as we traveled.

John and I had a wonderful time in Oregon. Thank you Chris and Becky for driving down south! It was so wonderful to see everyone and show off our sweet baby girl!

Guess who is one month today?!?!?!?!?

Okay, so it doesn't even seem possible that Charlotte is one month old already, but she is!!! We had her one month check up today and the good doctor said she is doing great! She weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs 13oz and is 20 inches long. She seems so big to us, but I guess by baby standards she is still quite little! She is beginning to sleep for longer stretches (3 whole hours at a time) and is way more alert now when she is awake. We are still hoping to see that first real smile, but that should come shortly.
Here is a picture of our big one month old!!! (taken with my phone so not the best quality, better pictures to follow)

Already March???

Wow, I can't believe it is already March. Charlotte will be one month old on Wednesday, so hard to believe! We spent a little time hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Camfferman the other night and finally got a family picture taken. John and I kept talking about how we needed to take at least one family picture!! Well, we finally have one thanks to Dan.
Our Family!

A few other pictures from our visit...

Charlotte hanging with Grandma!

Well, that is all for now, we are busy gearing up for our trip out to Oregon. Who knew that packing for an infant would take up almost as much room as a grown up!! I mean, their stuff is so small how can it take up so much room? Oh well, we will get it all in! We are all excited to head out west and will post about our trip as soon as we can!
