Busy Time of Year
I would love to be say that this time of year, with all it's busyness, is the reason I haven't blogged in a while. Instead, I have to say I have just been neglectful! Life with two kids is indeed much busier then before, but the truth is, on the days when I get both kids sleeping at the same time (which is not all that often) I find myself sipping tea on the couch or soaking in the quiet, or perhaps trying to catch up on all the things that Charlotte wants to "help" me do when she is awake!
Anyway, here are a few quick pictures from the past couple of weeks. I will try and post a bit more often (as time allows) starting the beginning of the year!

The Girls
Lots of people have commented that Charlotte and Kate look very much alike. We would agree they do look alike, however, they do not look the same. In fact, according to mommy they look quite different. What do you think?

Katherine Grace Camfferman
Well, we got a bit of a surprise last week... A beautiful baby girl came into our lives!
At three in the morning on Thursday, October 27 my water broke and sent us into a frenzy trying to get everything ready to head to the hospital. I was scheduled for an induction in two weeks, so we thought we had at least that long before our new addition made his or her arrival. Plans changed in a hurry as we dashed though the night to the hospital.
We arrived at the hospital less then an hour later, the contractions were about 2 minutes apart and I was already 4 cm. One hour later I was 5 and only 45 minutes after that I was ready to deliver. I couldn't believe when the doctor proclaimed at 8:45 that we would be having a baby before 9am!
Katherine Grace Camfferman was born at 8:55 Am October 27. She was 5 weeks early, the doctors couldn't find a single thing wrong with her. She weighed 5 lbs. 12 oz and was 19.5 inches long. Perfect.
We feel so very blessed and grateful to have finally made it to her delivery. Many of you know that contractions started at only 24 weeks (16 week before her actual due date.) We were so scared she was going to come too early, but Kate came exactly when she was supposed to. We couldn't possibly feel more relieved that everything turned out so well.
Several people have asked us about her name, mostly how we came up with Katherine. Well, truth be told, we had a horribly hard time coming up with a name. We had a list of several names that were ever changing. Then one day John asked me about the name Katherine, and that was it... her name was Katherine and we would call her Kate or Katie. Her middle name, Grace also came from her dad. Grace was a middle name we had tossed around with a few other names, but John said one day that the name "Katie Grace." would work well for when she was a famous singer. A fitting name for a musician. So, there you have it, simply a good strong name we could both agree on. Now that she is here the name seems to fit her even more so. Her name literally means "Pure Grace of God." Considering the timing of her birth, her name seems oh so fitting.
Here are pictures for those of you not on facebook.
Charlotte holding Kate. Who we are convinced will be "Baby Kate," for the rest of her life!
A kiss for Kate.
These next pictures were taken on the day when Charlotte was 21 months old to the day and Kate was exactly 1 week old.My sister comes into town on Saturday to help out for a couple of weeks, so we will try and post a few more pictures this weekend once we can catch up on a few things around here. We can't wait for Aunt Becky to get here with cousin Luke. Charlotte is already looking forward to playing with Luke!

A few more fun fall photos
Here are a few more photos from the other day. I have been working with the ever so difficult program Photoshop trying to learn it's ends and outs. Some days I think I am getting the hang of it and other days I think I would need a PhD to understand the darn thing!
Anyhow, here are a few more photos of my favorite subject!
PS. If you are viewing this at our actual blog, click on the picture itself and it will pull up all the pictures on a nice black background. :o) Enjoy!

Having fun with some fall photos
Fall time is a great time of year to have some fun with black and white photos. Here are three photos that I had a bit of fun playing around with this afternoon! This last one is my favorite. I love playing around with the camera and I think I am finally getting a small handle on the massive and complicated program known as photo shop!
More fall time fun!

It is finally fall!!
Well, it is finally fall around here. There is a chill in the air, the leaves are changing, and every where you look there are pumpkins and pumpkin flavored treasures to indulge in! Yes, we are excited about fall around here for sure. There are lots of reasons for our enthusiasm, one good reason for this might be it means the arrival of our hitchhiker is just around the corner. Another reason might be the delight we get in watching little miss Charlotte collect all kinds of "treasures." Yes, she is indeed a collector at heart, she picks up every leaf, stick, and pine cone she can get her hands on. The only problem is, what do you do when your hands are already full of treasures and there are more to be picked up!!
Here are a few photos from our most recent collecting adventure! We hope everyone is having their own fall adventures!
