An update...finally

Things have been a bit crazy around here the last few months, hence the lack of blogging! I am trying to catch up on things before things get totally crazy around here, so here we go...

Most of you, if not all of you, know we are expecting our second baby in late November. As much as I wish I could say this pregnancy was going better then the first; well, lets just say it has been an adventure! I am not having the painful complications I had with Charlotte's pregnancy, but have been having other more scary complications. I am currently 32 weeks pregnant and have been having contractions off and on since 24 weeks. A few weeks back the contractions were coming as much as every 4-6 minutes. The good news is the doctors are still saying that in spite of all the activity, the baby looks healthy and is growing right on schedule, and as of right now it looks like they can keep me pregnant for a while longer! We have been praying every day that God would allow me to stay pregnant as long as needed and also for peace over the situation. We have made a conscious decision not to live in a spirit of fear, but one of hope and peace knowing that what ever happens is in another hands.

So what does all this mean... I have to take it easy most days. This is not an easy task with an almost 20 month old running around the house, but we are making things work! Having to keep my happy butt on the couch for long periods during the day has given ample opportunity for Charlotte and I to read every book she owns over and over and over again! She loves every moment of it! She has began to notice the baby bump ( aka small basketball protruding from my belly) and gives it hugs and kisses and even an occasional "hi baby." It is very sweet!

What else has Charlotte been doing over the last few weeks....TALKING! She is talking, talking, talking, and oh did I mention she is TALKING?!?! It is actually quite fun to listen to all those precious words coming out of her mouth. We can even understand about 80% of what she says most days. It is so nice that she can finally just tell us what she needs or wants.

What else has Charlotte been up to these days...
Reading the Sunday paper with dad...Reading a few good books...
Making a very big mess with things like yogurt...yummy Oh, did we mention reading a few good books... Are you getting the idea we do this A LOT?Charlotte is such a happy girl. We love her so much and are blessed beyond measure to have her in our lives. Her bubbly spirit and spunky yet sweet nature keep us smiling and laughing! How can you not smile when she is saying "Hi," at the top of her lungs, to every single person in the grocery store. Even better, how can you not laugh when the person in the grocery store doesn't respond, and Charlotte doesn't loose hart just gets louder! It is fun to watch her put smiles on all kinds of faces! I mean really, what did we do for entertainment before Charlotte!

Charlotte do a little dance!

Charlotte is becoming quite the dancer these days. It is rather cute, you say "Charlotte can you dance?" She will stop whatever she is doing and do a little dance for you with a big ol' grin on her face!! Too funny!

The Phone

Charlotte just loves to talk on the phone. In fact, it is one of the few things she specifically asks to do. Most phone calls involve the grandparents and the speaker phone, but on occasion an aunt or uncle gets a random phone call from an 18 month old. She is getting pretty good with her phone educate, she can say "hello" and "how are ya." However, sometimes she will say "by-by" set the phone down and walk away!
Here is a quick video of Charlotte talking to Grandma and Grampa on their way back from Texas.

Learning to do it yourself!

Charlotte just loves learning to do new things all by herself, especially when it comes to food. We are excited about her new endeavors, in fact, the only small downside is the mess. Our poor child is getting 2-3 baths a day at this point. We are not too worried about the extra clean up these days, we know all this mess will soon bring FREEDOM to mom and dad! Plus, we get some great photo ops! Enjoy!
What a sight!!

Baseball!!

It would be a small understatement to say that the Rockies baseball team is a hit in our house. Charlotte has fallen in love with all things baseball as a result of her daddy's obsession. When we drive in the car and she sees a baseball field, from the back seat we hear, "Baseball baseball!!" If we drive by any field that people are gathered at she yells out, "BASEBALL!" It is rather cute. Here she is watching the Rockies on tv with dad.
